General Job Description:\n

Lays out, fabricates, prepares and checks pipe against job specifications for assembly at the job site.\n

Functional Requirements:\n

Interprets spool sheet diagrams to determine size, shapes and angles of required pipes, pipe fittings,\n

flanges, etc.; plans sequence of fabrication; measures and cuts pipe; cleans and prepares pipe by\n

grinding, bends and threads pipe - may operate bending machine; assembles and joins pipe and pipe\n

fittings; may operate hydraulic lift to relocate pipe.\n

Qualification Standards:\n\nFour (4) years of experience in specified skill (depending on mechanic level)\nWritten pre-employment qualification test\nPost-offer drug\/alcohol screen and physical evaluation\nHazard Communication orientation\/test\nTurner Industries Group, LLC indoctrination\nOSHA approved corrective eyewear (Z87)\nJob site orientation\nJob site safety requirements as required by the client (clean shaven, long sleeves, steel toe boots,\n\n

Tools\/Equipment:\n

regular screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver, set of combination wrenches, tape, folding rule, wrap\n

around, work gloves, striker, cutting goggles, tip cleaner, chisel, rain suit.\n

Physical Involvement:\n

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and\n

below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all\n

directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes,\n

hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist\n

level, and\/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing;\n

pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching\/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing\n

with or without correction.\n
