**Job Title: Pipe Layer***** **Pay: $20-26/hour Dependent on Experience** **Job Description** We are seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating machinery, assisting in pipe placement, and ensuring the correct installation of various types of pipes and fittings. This role requires hands-on work and attention to detail to ensure proper execution of tasks. **Responsibilities** + Start engines, move throttles, switches, and levers, and depress pedals to operate machinery. + Locate underground services, such as pipes and wires, prior to starting work. + Assist equipment operators in the placement of pipe. + Direct equipment operators with hand signals. + Backfill around pipe using hand tools. + Set-up and work with pipe lasers and transits. + Locate and mark the correct position of pipe and fittings in an underground trench. + Assemble and install valves, fittings, and pipes composed of metal, PVC, ductile, and concrete. **Essential Skills** + 1-3 years of experience installing large diameter pipes for water, sewer, and storm drain. + Experience in reading and understanding blueprints and specifications to determine work procedure. + Must be able to work on their feet for an entire day and understand and perform assigned tasks. **Additional Skills & Qualifications** + Experience with pipe laying, laser equipment, and construction tools. + Knowledge of heavy equipment operation in a construction environment. **Why Work Here?** We offer a comprehensive compensation package, including overtime hours up to 32 OT.
