Job Description
As a Pipe Layer, you will work in a trench/ditch setting, laying utilities pipe and setting the bedding rock. Your role involves directing the operator to avoid pre-existing utility lines and ensuring the correct grading and alignment of pipes. This position requires physical labor, including digging with a shovel in wet conditions, using a laser to determine grading, and continuously lifting heavy materials. It is a strenuous job that may occasionally involve working in sewer water if a pipe bursts.
ResponsibilitiesSet bedding rock and lay utilities pipe in trench/ditch settings.Direct the operator to avoid pre-existing utility lines.Perform rock grading, set rock, and line up the pipe.Cut the ditch to the required grade.Dig with a shovel in wet ditches.Use a laser to determine grading, depths, and ridges.Lift rock, pipe, and other heavy equipment continuously.Count and record footage of pipe.Signal to the operator continuously.Essential SkillsExperience in laying pipe.Capability to perform heavy lifting.Proficiency in lifting and shoveling.Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication).Additional Skills & Qualifications2+ years of experience in laying pipe within the sewer/storm water field.Ability to lift 50+ lbs and shovel for 8 hours a day.Valid Driver's License.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
Projects range from 5 feet to 40 feet deep, operating 100% within OSHA guidelines. The role involves close communication with the operator and a team of 2-4 people. The dress code includes jeans, t-shirt (no sleeveless), and steel-toe shoes. PPE such as hard hats, safety glasses, vests, and gloves are provided by the client. The working hours are from 7 am to 6 pm, with the possibility of heavy overtime during the week. No weekends are required.

The pay range for this position is $62000.00 - $62000.00/yr.
