**Job Description: Experienced Pipe Layer** We are seeking a skilled Pipe Layer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining underground pipe systems, including water mains, storm drains, and sewer lines. Key tasks include grading trenches, positioning pipes, and sealing joints using various tools and equipment, ensuring proper alignment and grade according to project plans. **Key Responsibilities:** + Grade Preparation: Ensure proper grading to achieve the correct pipe slope. + Excavation and Trenching: Prepare trenches by digging and leveling the ground using heavy machinery such as excavators and backhoes. + Pipe Placement: Carefully position pipes within the trench, ensuring proper alignment and grade using laser levels, transit levels, and grade rods. + Joint Sealing: Connect pipe sections by sealing joints using welding, cement, glue, or other appropriate methods depending on the pipe material. + Cutting and Fitting: Cut pipes to required lengths and make necessary modifications to fit the layout. + Supporting Structures: Install supporting structures like manholes and catch basins as needed. + Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety regulations, including the proper use of personal protective equipment and awareness of underground utilities. **Required Skills:** + Construction + Pipe fitting + Pipe laying + Heavy equipment operation + Excavation + Civil engineering **Top Skills:** + Construction + Pipe fitting + Pipe laying + Heavy equipment operation + Excavation + Civil engineering **Additional Skills & Qualifications:** + Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred. + Strong industry experience specific to construction or equivalent knowledge. + Understanding of pipe types, fittings, tools, and installation methods. + Accurate use of equipment and levels to ensure grades and slopes meet project requirements. + Confined Space Certification + Excavation Certification + OSHA 10 Certification **Experience Level:** + Entry Level **Pay and Benefits** The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
