Pipefitter - Immediately Hiring - San Diego, CAJob DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in the repair, modification, installation, assembly, removal, testing, flushing, and troubleshooting of shipboard and industrial piping systems and related equipment. ResponsibilitiesReview details of work packages such as technical information, specification items, drawings, manuals, sketches, etc.Work independently and read blueprints.Fabricate, repair, install, and test marine piping systems using blueprints for guidance.Install and maintain ships' piping systems such as steam heat and power, hot water, hydraulic, air pressure, and oil lines following blueprints, layouts, and work orders using hand tools and shop machines.Plan layout of pipe sections, allowing for conformance to specifications, obstructions, and holes.Cut and bore holes in bulkheads and decks for installation of pipes.Operate shop machines to cut and thread pipe and pipe fittings including valves, traps, and thermostats.Bend pipe to specified shapes on pipe-bending fixtures.Bolt or weld pipe brackets to support pipe systems, and connect pipes to fixtures such as heat exchangers, laundry and galley equipment, pumps, tanks, and other miscellaneous ship equipment.Repair, pack, and adjust valves.Test installed systems for leaks to ensure that the system meets specifications.Essential Skills5+ years of experience as a pipefitter in a shipyard.Proficiency in fitting and brazing.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and work packages.High school diploma or equivalent.Work EnvironmentWork will be performed onboard the USS Roosevelt on North Island. The work environment includes shipboard conditions, which may involve confined spaces and exposure to various weather conditions. Appropriate safety gear and attire are required.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.50 - $37.50
