Job Description
The Pipefitter will configure, install, fit, and maintain various piping systems, ensuring their smooth operation. This role involves working with different materials and systems, requiring strong technical skills and attention to detail.
ResponsibilitiesPlan, prepare, install, and maintain piping and plumbing systems composed of various materials.Consult blueprints, work orders, schematics, or instructions to create working procedures based on specifications.Gather equipment and materials for the job.Weld, cut, bend, thread, solder, and fit pipes.Attach pipes and piping systems to walls using brackets, bracket systems, or clamps.Install various types of insulation and pipe covering, and safely remove old coverings in accordance with hazardous waste procedures and EPA/OSHA requirements.Inspect pipes, test for pressure and leaks, and report and/or resolve any issues.Coordinate with managers to schedule machinery maintenance, repairs, and installations to minimize disruption to operations.Comply with applicable safety and building codes, regulations, and best practices.Maintain records, including safety logs and inspection details.Perform other related duties as assigned.Essential SkillsAbility to read schematics and blueprints.Proficiency in using a variety of tools, including blowtorches, saws, pipe benders, and welding torches.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Successful completion of a four-year apprenticeship in pipefitting or a related field.Valid state license.Additional Skills & Qualifications4+ years of experience on commercial construction projects.Experience reading and interpreting blueprints.Experience in welding.Must possess visual acuity required to inspect piping systems and read plans or blueprints.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
You will work primarily on outdoor construction sites and will need to travel to job sites daily in your own vehicle. Job sites are located in San Antonio. Expect to work 40+ hours per week, with flexibility required for potential overtime. Work hours typically start between 7:30 am and 12:00 pm, depending on the team's schedule. You will also need to attend a mandatory safety orientation at our office on the first Monday of your employment.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $31.00
