We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Pipeline Technician in our US Onshore Resources & Carbon Management (ORCM), EOR Plants Business Unit based in North Plants.

Requirements:

Responsible for installation, programming, calibration, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of pipeline automation and mechanical equipment in order to improve pipeline operation/uptime and reduce total operating costs

Daily operations, maintenance, reporting, and surveillance of DOT regulated transmission pipelinesCalibration and maintenance of electronic gas/liquid flow measurement devicesOperation and maintenance of gas analyzersSchedule, conduct, report and perform meter calibration, witnessing and sampling testsOrder, receive and stock parts associated with metering and pipeline equipmentPerform calculations for optimal orifice plate sizesWitness 3rd party gas/liquid calibrations and analysisOversight of contractor activity performing covered tasks within pipeline facilities and pipeline right of waysRespond to “One-Call” notifications, mark pipelines, participate in job-walks, etc. as neededCapable of working on call rotation, call outs and over timePrepare thorough job plans, isolation plans and energy control plans for complex maintenance and construction operations performed during outages and turnarounds.Knowledge in facilities data control, PLCs, communcication, instrumentation and metering (volumetric and mass measurement) equipmentUnderstanding of OSHA, PHMSA and RRC compliance regulations and API / ASTM StandardsUse computers to operate SCADA, PI, Iconics, PGAS and FLOWCAL systemsUnderstanding of communication including fiber optic, radio and satelliteEnsure and adhere to safe work practices and procedures including, but not limited to lockout/tag out, confined space, hot work, operating procedures and pipeline regulations.Qualifications -

Education: High School Diploma or GED ; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline preferred

Experience:  5+ years of directly applicable experience with little or no supervision

Strong personal commitment to a clean and safe work placeTeam player, self-starter, committed to excellenceAbility to read, write, and speak English fluentlyMust have a valid Driver's license and an acceptable driving recordWillingness to travel and/or commute to multiple job sitesWillingness to work overtime, weekends, night shifts, and/or rotating shifts as neededWorking knowledge of custody sales meters and test equipmentKnowledge of or familiarity with AGA/GPA Gas Measurement Guidelines, DOT, BLM and COGCC Regulatory requirementsExperience in advanced troubleshooting of automation and electronic pipeline equipmentExperience with flow computer configuration softwareCertificate of completion from a relevant trade or vocational training centerStrong technical and/or mechanical aptitudeProficiency in a wide variety of computer applications
