In this role, you will undertake the following duties:
For LAYOUT - In this role, you will undertake the following duties:Good in design of piping layouts for process plants.Clear concepts of Material engineering & stress analysis.Should have worked in the capacity as a Lead i.e., supervised / handled 20,000- 40,000 work hours on an individual project. Independently handled a project / Area with more than 1500 lines.Knowledge of statutory rules / regulations is essential.Working as per the quality and safety requirement standards.Adopting a flexible and open approach towards the needs of projects.Lead the team of Engineers & Designers,Support in proposals & estimation activities.Conduct skill-based training for junior engineers/designers. FOR MATERIAL – Piping Specification activities for Conceptual, FEED, Basic and Detailed Engineering stages of PipingConversant with metallurgical requirements.Material selection based on preliminary information.Preparation of Piping Material Specifications to cover various services.Design calculation like Pressure-Temperature rating, Pipe wall thickness, Branch Reinforcement PadEstimating the contingency Piping MTO required on account of Pre-commissioning, commissioning activities.Preparation of Material Requisition for Piping itemsTechnical Evaluation of Bids and discussion / clarification with VendorsReview Vendors’ documentation.Knowledge and experience with various ASME/ API/ ASTM standards and codesConversant with Various materials like CS, LTCS, SS, DSS, SDSS, INCONEL & CU-NI.Preparation / Extraction of Piping Material Take-offPrioritization and planning of engineering activities and deliverables.Attend meetings with Clients/ Contractors/ VendorsProcessing of technical deviation requests by Vendors or Contractors.Technical and operative interface activities with other departments for material related activitiesField technical issues and support sub-team leads in technical communications with clients/vendors when required.Advanced analytical, problem solving, accuracy, attention to details, and interpersonal skills.Ability to establish and meet deadlines for the task provided, manage priorities, and effectively achieve the goals in fast paced environment is critical.Ability to plan, communicate/present concepts and reports on complex topics with the ability to persuade and influence others as needed.Field technical issues and support sub-team leads in technical communications with clients/vendors when required.Should have the flexibility to work on areas other than core competence. FOR STRESS-Should have sound knowledge in this line & flair for ‘out of bracket’ thinking.Capable of working as Lead Stress Engineer for sizeable jobs.Familiar with preparing microplans and monitoring the progress and productivity of the project.Preparation of Stress specifications, Pipe Support Standard Specifications Critical line list etc.Perform pipe stress analysis of lines connected to critical equipment’s like centrifugal and reciprocating compressors/pumps, turbines, jacketted piping, Fired Heaters, Reboilers etc.Perform Pipe stress analysis for pipelines as per ASME B31.4/31.8 codes.Perform stress analysis of above ground and underground metallic and non-metallic piping.Dynamic analysis of piping system in Caesar II using modal, response spectrum, time history methods.WRC 107/297 checks.Perform pipe stress analysis for brownfield jobs.Flange leakage checks as per various options in Caesar II.Selection of spring hanges, snubbers, struts, expansion joints and preparation of their datasheets and conducting their TBA. Provide stress markups and support loads to piping layout and Structural team.Preparation of stress reports as per Client requirements.Review and signing off piping isometrics considering flexibility and supporting.Review of drawings and datasheets for vendors.Allocates work to engineers and provides guidance for the- technical development of the team.Co-ordinating with Client/Vendor/inter disciplines. Working as per the quality and safety requirement standards.Adopting a flexible and open approach towards the needs of projects.
In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management. These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization. The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently. All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Skills Requirement:
Perform the following tasks independently/with minimum guidance:Lead Engineer of mid to large-sized project.Clear in concepts of layout, stress & materials.Responsible for coordination with other disciplines.Responsible for quality of deliverables.Planning & SchedulingControl of work hours.Estimation.Contributes to developmental activities.Directly supervises Sr. Engineers and Sr Designers.

Software Tools: Familiar & flexible in adapting all 3D Design Software’s.Computer Applications: Windows operating systems.
Qualification/ Certification:
Masters/Bachelor of Engineering OR Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical / Chemical Engineering from Indian University (UGC approved) or from Overseas University.

Communication:English - Effective verbal and written communication skills.Good Interpersonal skills.Presentation and business communication skill.Identify/report technical concerns and solutions in a clear and concise manner.Should be able to attend project and team meetings.Conduct technical training session for team.Proficiency in remote collaboration tools and practices.
