Piping Designer Job Description We are seeking a Lead Piping Designer to provide project leadership for our design team. This individual will report to the Project Manager and will offer advanced development, design, and drafting CAD support on various projects. Responsibilities + Work with drafters to complete drawing sets to meet client requirements. + Perform design and drafting checking, ensuring proper process flow, drafting standards, and CAD standards. + Layout of P&IDs. + Conduct As-Builts, site visits, and walkdown P&IDs, generating P&IDs from scratch where none are available. + Develop the design of complex piping models using basic information such as P&IDs, GA drawings, piping specifications, and equipment arrangements to create 3D models. + Apply technical principles, theories, and concepts for the Oil and Gas industry. + Review and check project documents, piping layouts, orthographic drawings, and isometrics for scope, presentation, and technical accuracy prior to issue. + Prepare Bill of Material and other construction documents. + Develop hand isometric sketches in the field as well as isometric drawings from piping. Essential Skills + Minimum of 10 years of experience in Oil and Gas industry. + Proficient with CADWorx, AutoCAD, Navis, and Microsoft Excel. + Good communication skills. + Ability to conceptualize and draw design details independently with minor instruction. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Knowledge of Piping design, P&ID, PFDs, and As-Built processes. + Understanding of the Oil and Gas industry. Work Environment This position requires working in the office every day initially. There will be more flexibility later on, with the possibility of a hybrid work model. The manager wants candidates to be comfortable with being fully in the office at the start to demonstrate their commitment and interest in the role. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
