Piping Designer (CAD Specialist II)
The Piping Designer (CAD Specialist II) is based in our Honeywell LNG Headquarters located in Allentown, PA. You will contribute to the LNG Mechanical Design Engineering (MDE) - External Engineering team.
As a member of the LNG MDE External Engineering team, your duties will include creation of piping 3D models, detailed piping design isometric drawings, and Bills of Materials to support a complex and dynamic LNG equipment business. The person in this role will generate models, drawings, and other deliverables to support the fabrication and installation of piping systems related to LNG Coil Wound Heat Exchangers, other Pressure Vessels, Cold Boxes, and Modularized Liquefaction Equipment.
Other duties will include checking of detailed design drawings created by others, reviewing customer specifications, participating in internal and external model review meetings, and supporting heat exchanger design work, bid activities, continuous improvement, manufacturing activities, customer liaison, and field work.
The position requires occasional domestic and international travel.
NATURE AND SCOPE:
The Honeywell Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Mechanical Design Engineering team designs and manufactures specialized Coil Wound Heat Exchangers and other natural gas liquefaction equipment. The equipment is designed by our engineering organization and fabricated at our manufacturing facility in Port Manatee, FL, or other domestic and international 3rd party facilities. Our customers use this equipment to liquefy extracted natural gas, massively improving its transportability as an energy source to end users around the world.
This role will focus on the creation and modification of 3D models, detailed structural design drawings, and Bills of Materials to support a complex and dynamic LNG equipment business. You will collaborate with other designers and engineers in the MDE team. Occasional collaboration with other functional areas including Process Engineering and Project Engineering will be required. Through collaboration with multiple engineering functions and manufacturing sites, the design team is responsible for designing and communicating the manufacturing details required to successfully build our state-of-the-art Coil Wound Heat Exchanger Technology, Cold Boxes, Modules, and other Equipment.

MUST HAVES
Associate Degree in Mechanical Design Technology/Drafting or related technical discipline and 3+ years of meaningful structural design experience or 5+ years of structural design experience or relevant experience without a degree.Must be proficient in drafting and design with CAD and 3D modeling tools.Must be able to read and interpret Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).WE VALUE
Excellent working knowledge of Hexagon’s Smart 3D plant design application is preferred.Experience with other CAD applications such as such SolidWorks or MicroStation or Revit, or Navisworks or Hexagon’s CADWorx is a plus.Advanced technical knowledge in design and drafting standards and practices across multiple engineering disciplines will be advantageous. Experience with Microsoft Office Tools.Ability to interface with engineering and design team members. Collaborative individuals capable of working productively in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision.
