Job Description

Our client is currently undertaking multiple new programs that will be the start of decade-long work on over five different ships and submarines. They are eager to hire talented Designers at all levels to join the team and be a part of this exciting new chapter. With rapid growth, there will be plenty of opportunities to move up in every team and accelerate your career quickly! We are looking for candidates with experience in developing 2D designs and 3D models using tools such as ShipConstructor and AutoCAD. The ideal candidate has a experience in ship, shipyard, or similar industries as these programs require complex design structures. The Design teams at this company are vital to these programs and will be top priority to management. This role will be a two-year remote contract where candidates will design and develop the next generation of shipyard construction and ships!

ResponsibilitiesResponsible for 2D and 3D drawing development.Checking drawings created by CAD Drafters and Designer I-III.Work with Production Management, cross-functional design teams internal and external to the company, including business partner representatives, customer representatives, and equipment manufacturers.Develop detailed piping designs and layouts for navy ship projects.Create and modify 3D models using ShipConstructor.Ensure designs comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.Collaborate with engineers and other designers to integrate piping systems with other ship designs.Conduct design reviews and provide technical support during construction.Prepare and review piping isometrics, flow diagrams, and P&IDs.Ensure ergonomic and functional design according to Human Systems Interface standards.Perform ship checks and surveys to verify design accuracy.Essential SkillsExperience in piping design, drafting, and shipbuilding.Proficiency in 3D modeling, specifically using ShipConstructor.5-10+ years of drafting and design experience.5-10+ years of experience using 2D and 3D AutoCAD.Computer literacy with 2D and 3D AutoCAD.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in Shipbuilding or shipyard construction.Experience in pre-construction design.Experience in Ship Building, Ship Construction, Aerospace, or Oil and Gas.Work Environment

This is a remote position with negotiable work hours depending on time zone. Benefits and PTO are negotiable. The role allows for flexibility with any time zone being acceptable.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $55.00
