Working on site at the client’s facility, the Piping Designer will particiapte on engineering projects from original concept to field follow-up, this includes working with other members of the on site Design/Engineering Team as well as other on site discipline groups within the facility.

RESPONSIBILITIES (Primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to)
Provide detailed project design from conception (front end development) through completion (construction support)Development of written scope, P&ID’s, construction plans, equipment layouts, plot plans, piping routings, pipe support design, piping isometrics, field mapping, and system schematicsManaging multiple project, budgets and scope changesCapable to handle multiple projects at different phases of development at one timeContinuous improvement by leveraging best practices and lessons learnedWorking knowledge with chemical and/ or petrochemical and utility systemsIndustrial knowledge of operations, environment requirements, and safety in design standards
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionMust be able to go into field to assess project requirements, climb stairs and ladders, etc.Strong communication and coordination skills Self-motivated / teamwork-orientedCapable to handle multiple projects at various phasesWork well with diverse discipline groupsAbility to check and review drawings; field walk down of pipelines, plants and facilities, verification of design and
REQUIREMENTS
Education High School EquivalentMinimum of 5 years of experience in piping design, preferably on-site experienceAuto CAD experience is requiredPreferred 3D modeling expertise with using laser scan point cloud dataClient focusedCommitted to technical excellenceCritical thinking skills for problem solvingRefinery, petrochemical, or chemical industry experience a mustWorking with remote teams is a plus but not required
Will conduct or participate in a field trip to an operating plant or construction site to gather project information. This requires normal hearing, the ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance, clear close and distance vision, depth perception and the ability to focus. Lifting up to 25 pounds may be required.
All candidates must pass background checks, drug screening and qualify for issuance of TWIC credentials.
