Job Description

This is a full-time role for a Journeyperson Field Inspector in the Expansion Joint Division. The Field Inspector will be responsible for conducting on-site inspections of expansion joints in refinery applications.

ResponsibilitiesConduct on-site inspections of expansion joints in refinery applications.Perform onsite field inspections and repairs.Ensure knowledge of expansion joint design and installation.Inspect welded parts and assess quality control.Read and interpret engineering drawings.Write detailed reports of findings in MS Word and Excel.Communicate and report findings effectively.Collaborate with other inspectors and team members.Essential SkillsExperience in onsite field inspections and repairs.Knowledge of expansion joint design and installation.Knowledge of welding and fabrication.Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.Ability to write detailed reports in MS Word and Excel.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and reporting abilities.Certification or training in relevant field inspection techniques.Experience in the oil & gas or petrochemical industries.Additional Skills & QualificationsConstruction or Oil & Gas experience a plus, but will consider Aerospace or equivilent.3-5 years of experience working as a Field Inspector (consideration given to around 2 years).High level of attention to detail and problem-solving.Knowledge of welding processes.Experience in quality assurance and visual inspection.Work Environment

Work will be conducted both at home and during refinery visits nationally, and occasionally globally. The role involves traveling to client sites 30-40% of the time (starting domestically and eventually internationally) to perform inspections. The position offers flexibility in the work schedule with extensive training and mentoring. There is a small office space in Sorrento Valley with a good company culture where everyone is close and friendly. A coffee machine is available on-site.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00
