Position Overview
Strong ability to influence and negotiate with trading partner to achieve optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clients. Work under the direction of senior staff on specific assigned tasks such as research, data gathering, underwriting analysis and preparation of various materials in support of placement activities on new and renewal business to support business retention and production goals. Possess a basic knowledgeable of property and casualty coverages and carrier underwriting guidelines. Build and grow relationships with carrier representatives and fellow World associates.
Work Experience / Job Qualifications
1 to 3 years industry experience in commercial insurance brokerage, placement, carrier underwriting, and carrier relationship management role; or in combinationComplete and thorough understanding of a national insurance broker’s sales, service, and placement processResponsibilities
Comprehensive understanding of World’s scope of expertise, structure, distribution strategy, and value proposition
Knowledge of the insurance industry marketplace including:
Small Commercial InsuranceStandard Property and Casualty insurance productsCoordinate placement outcomes with senior staff to achieve optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clientsLead a competitive coverage placement process and demonstrate strong negotiation skills to achieve appropriate cost, coverage, and capacity targets for clients and prospective clientsMaintain productive and responsive relationships with underwriters at World’s key Trading PartnersParticipate as requested by senior staff in program design and placement strategy meetings with client advisors and account executivesPromote utilization of strategic Trading Partners critical to maintaining secure and dependable relationships for World to generate optimal outcomes for clients and prospective clientsCollaborate with National Placement resources as necessary to ensure client’s and prospective client’s coverage needs are comprehensively addressedSupport senior staff in larger, more complex placements as requestedAssist with the preparation of submissions and applications required by the underwriting communityDirect submissions to the appropriate trading partners and negotiate best in class coverage terms, conditions, capacity, and costPrepare coverage comparisons based upon quotations and proposals received from underwriters with oversight from senior staffMaintain focus on World-authorized workflow and standard operating procedures to support consistency across the World enterpriseEssential Skills / Competencies
