Plaintiff Class Action Paralegal
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Class Action Paralegal in Los Angeles, California. The selected candidate will be working on-site and will be expected to provide support in various areas including discovery, drafting motions, and legal research. Responsibilities: • Conduct comprehensive legal research as required. • Draft motions using templates and ensure they adhere to legal standards. • Prepare for trials by organizing and managing relevant legal documents. • Handle discovery requests and responses effectively. • Administer claims and ensure their timely resolution. • Effectively manage attorney time and handle the associated billing functions. • Utilize Case Management Software for efficient processing of cases. • Use Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for various legal processes. • Carry out briefing and calendar management tasks. • Engage in Class Action Litigation procedures and regulations. Requirements • Proficiency in various software including Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS), Case Management Software, and CompuLaw. • Experience with billing functions, briefing, calendar management, and claim administration. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Knowledge and experience in litigation, specifically Class Action. • Familiarity with discovery processes, including discovery requests and responses. • Ability to draft motions efficiently and accurately. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and handling sensitive information with discretion. • Bachelor's degree in Law, Paralegal Studies, or a related field is preferred. • Prior experience in a similar role or legal environment is beneficial.
