Planner, Lead Maintenance (I&E)

The Lead Turnaround Planner is responsible for all aspects of his/her assigned project throughout its life cycle. The lead will direct and support the planning effort to ensure the highest quality planning and reporting is achieved. The Lead Turnaround Planner will report to the Turnaround Supervisor and ensure the current status of every phase is accurately reflected in the reporting cycle. The Lead Turnaround Planner will also be the main point of contact for all coordination efforts during the execution of turnaround projects. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Planning Phase

Validate job scope w turnaround steering team to ensure clear definitions and expectations.Input job scopes into planning software and assign them to a planner.Assign technical data to jobs in planning software.Support turnaround planners in planning efforts through mentoring and technical support.Work with operations to get unit-specific data.Gather quotes from vendors, compile them in folders and communicate this info with the cost department.Assist turnaround planners in resolving field/drawing discrepancies and be a liaison to field engineering.Validate completed plans in planning software.Coordinate materials strategy with purchaser and materials coordinators (i.e. surplus usage, materials on order, items bagged and tagged, etc.)Develop/Review/Approve project schedule and resource requirements.

Execution Phase

Facilitate internal coordinator onboarding.Participate and lead contractor onboardingFacilitate daily safety and turnover meetings.Assign work areas/packages to coordinators and monitor the progress eliminating roadblocks when they arise.Communicate with all parties what is going on in the field; including, but not limited to: contractor/delay/AWR info to cost group, work progress to schedulers, and email updates to management.Review 3 shifts look ahead and update priorities.Validate and track AWR and delay logs.Validate manpower needs through scheduler data and monitoring work fronts in the field.Validate contractor progress to ensure accurate forecasting.Ensure contractors staff and de-staff according to the current plan.

Ongoing Efforts

Maintain a safe and sanitary workplace.Constantly monitor Enterprise turnaround teams planning practices and suggest improvements where you see fit.Participate in Risk reviews and Lesson Learned meetings.Mentor other turnaround planners on industry and company standards and expectations.Assist the Turnaround Team with all other duties assigned.

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.5 years maintenance or operations experience in a natural gas processing/fractionation plant, petrochemical plant, gas gathering or transmission, or refinery is required.5 years of planning experience in turnarounds.Have or develop a broad knowledge of administrative operating procedures to effectively comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.Specific training and/or experience in computer use including the use of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and Primavera software is essential.Technical certification or associate degree or equivalent training in a process or mechanical environment energy-related field is preferred.Experience with coordinating maintenanceand/or capital-related work including procurement of materials and services, scheduling contractors, and producing job plans is required.Must have effective organizational skills.Must be a team player that interacts effectively with co-workersin a group or in independent cooperative activities.Must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to chair meetings with senior management in a formal setting.Must be accountable and self-driven to learn and continuously strive for improvement.Must possess a safety-conscious mindset, conducive to the company’s policies and procedures.
