Eaton’s IS AER FMC division is currently seeking a Planner at our Grand Rapids, MI location!
Producing electro-mechanical actuation components since 1963, our Grand Rapids facility has just under 200 employees. It's a leading supplier of secondary flight control systems and components for commercial and business aircraft OEMs.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $67500.0 - $99000.0 a year.

What you’ll do:The Planner reports to the Materials Manager. This person is responsible for translating the mechanical recommendations of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) into executable decisions. Emphasis is placed on analysis and the interpretation of a variety of reports, with coordination of necessary support activities to allow timely and economical completion of production commitments, in line with the Company’s business objectives.
In this function you will:
• Inspect (MRP) recommendations and implement. Approve acceptance or rejection of MRP recommendations. Review various reports to determine validity of MRP recommendations based on material availability, inventory levels, lead times, etc. Initiate activity to allocate stock, purchase materials and internally manufacture material.
• Interpret reports and execute appropriate activities to advance, delay or cancel previously scheduled materials. Analyze requirements and apply judgment to determine if MRP recommendations are correct for planning factors such as EOQ’s and make/buy decisions.
• Minimize excess inventories. Coordinate and monitor cross-departmental planning and scheduling efforts needed for maintaining internal build and delivery schedules.
• Evaluate progress of make and purchase materials. Research alternatives when schedule changes or anticipated delays have been identified.
• Determine rescheduling and/or re-sizing orders. Determine possible use of Product Support Parts. Determine the rescheduling of End Item build schedules when necessary.
• Perform all facets of the job accordance with Company policy requirements.
• Keep informed of developments and trends affecting areas of responsibility and pro-actively promote change to increase operational effectiveness.
Required Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution6 years' experience in supply chain; OR Associate's degree and 3 years' experience in supply chain; OR Bachelor's degree from an accredited university; in lieu of experienceMust be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the futureThis position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
