Planner and Inventory Specialist
Job Summary AVT Simulation is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Planner and Inventory Specialist to join our dynamic team in Oviedo, FL. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing processes while maintaining accurate inventory management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning production schedules, coordinating material procurement, and optimizing inventory levels to support production goals and customer demands. Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks + Develop and maintain production schedules based on Costpoint MRP, demand forecasts, customer orders, stocking profiles (Kanban, Safety Stock, etc.). + Coordinate with the production team to ensure timely delivery of products and efficient use of manufacturing resources and create shortage mitigation strategies. + Work with engineering regarding part number creation, bill of material validation, bill of material creation, and review engineering drawings for completeness. + Manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts or excess inventory, ensuring material availability without overstocking. + Cycle count inventory and adjust inventory as necessary to support production. + Monitor and maintain inventory transactions, accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods within Costpoint ERP. + Work closely with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and components, ensuring data is reflected in the ERP system regarding deliveries. + Identify areas for improvement in manufacturing processes and inventory management to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality. + Prepare and analyze reports on production, inventory levels, and supply chain performance to support decision-making. + Coordinate with the quality control team to ensure that all materials and finished products meet company standards. + Assist in the implementation of new manufacturing planning tools, inventory management software, or process improvements. + Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations and company policies. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.   Qualifications + 5 years of experience in manufacturing planning, inventory control, or a related role + Strong understanding of manufacturing processes including MRP, ERP, Bills of materials, inventory management principles. + Proficient in using ERP systems (Deltek Costpoint preferred) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. + Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. + Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment. + Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to addressing challenges. Essential Mental Requirements + Excellent written and spoken communication skills for documentation, intra-team, and interdisciplinary communication. + Able to focus on multiple projects at once + Organized and detail oriented . + Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documentation. + Ability to analyze problems using scientific and logical thinking. + Ability to operate in a high-paced work environment.
