Basic Qualifications:
Associates degree in supply chain or business from an accredited institution. Minimum of 3-years' experience in production control, scheduling, or supply chain management in a manufacturing environment. Understanding of Microsoft Office applications. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for the position. Job Summary
The role of the Production Planner is to monitor and expedite the flow of castings through the manufacturing process in order to meet customer delivery requirements and Howmet commitments. Function includes interface between Master Scheduling efforts and Pre and Post Cast Manufacturing. This role involves scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring the expedient flow of parts through the manufacturing processes to satisfy the customers’ delivery requirements.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities, not limited to:
Ensures castings flow to meet manufacturing takt times to support targeted net production. Provides prioritization and expediting to manufacturing to achieve Master Scheduler’s customer commit dates. Create a fixed wax schedule based on customer demand and communicate with the team. Ensure core, patterns, and SLA deliveries meet the master wax input schedule. Provide priorities to vendors and place reqs for POs to meet commit dates. Forecast and order alloy based on wax schedule, track monthly usage, rectify discrepancies, and remove waste alloy. Interface and communicate with all outplant vendors on part problems, forecasts, changes in priorities, and coordinate shipping to and from outplant vendors. Place reqs for all Outplant POs. Support all departments' precast and post-cast material flow to meet manufacturing ship schedules. Represent planning and supply chain in various department meetings. Interact with all customers on weekly statute touch point calls, cover customers' WIP, and answer delivery questions. Validates inventory accuracy in their assigned area and rectifies and discrepancies. Expectation is at least half of the shift will be spent on the production floor ensuring proper material flow so ability to stand and walk for long periods of time is required. This position requires some nights and weekend to support end of the month activities.Job Roles
