Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of five years of planning experience or combination bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience. Knowledge of production planning, inventory management, JIT concepts and MRP also required Expert in Excel and data analysis Advanced understanding of MRP/ERP inputs and outputs Well-developed communication skills are utilized to interact with all levels inside and outside the facility. Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Develop and maintain ongoing production plans that maximize factory and plant business objectives and customer service and minimize inventory investment (capacity concepts are understood) and costs (providing visibility to support groups to effectively consolidate activities where applicable). Provides guidance to factory personnel to achieve goals of customer service, lead time, cost, productivity, overtime, and profit margin. The Planner III is held accountable for their product group results.
Specific Responsibilities:
Update daily metrics, shipment plans and projections, and production plans. Release work order packages to shop floor based on sales orders or other demand triggers. Resolve material & component shortages and create requisitions in as needed. Liaise with Customer Service, Production, and Supply Chain to resolve customer service issues, follow-ups, expedited orders, and past dues. Establish priorities on shop floor to ensure department goals are met. Daily/Weekly Review of customer demand. Communicate areas where supply plan is inconsistent with demand. Monitor forecasts for error and identify where adjustments or inputs are needed. Monthly meeting with Operations to update capacity and lead time assumptions. Daily monitoring of Work in Process identifying and communicating bottlenecks that need to be addressed. Conduct daily production meeting with shop floor and support personnel as needed. Daily new order ads review identifying extraordinary demand. Responsible for assuring that the promised dates booked to the customer are attained. Manage inventory levels to meet factory and plant objectives. Interface with Purchasing, Engineering, Supply Chain, Sales & shop personnel. Update and maintain accurate planning information and parameters in MRP System to drive accurate demand and information. Review capacity on machines and identify potential bottlenecks. Keep due dates updated on system. Develop rough cut capacity plans. Participate in monthly S&OP meetings. Provide guidance for new employee development and growth in the department. Review past dues in detail and understanding their Root Cause. Interruptions Able to coach/train other planners. Participate with production teams to resolve production and planning issues. Able to lead teams to resolve moderately complex issues or process improvements. Able to generate plans that effectively identify risks and opportunities and drive metrics that support the factory and plant. Facilitate continual improvement. Take initiative to resolve planning issues without supervision’s direction. Willingly participate with production teams to resolve production and planning issues. Perform other tasks as needed in support of manufacturing operations, customers and suppliers.
