Job Description
The Project Planner Scheduler supports Project Management by providing detailed project schedules that cover the entire project cycle from development to operations. This role involves developing project templates, including critical path analysis and alternate schedules, maintaining multiple project schedules, and supporting the project team with project status updates, cost control, and change order tracking.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop logically linked schedules from proposal documents, contract documents, and estimate sheets.Create and revise preliminary master schedules for projects, detailing the sequence of all work to be performed.Evaluate actual progress and provide regular schedule updates.Interface with Project Managers and Project Engineers to discuss the impact of work and resolve problems.Develop working schedules for Estimating, illustrating the sequence of work activities and contract time.Prepare and issue proposal and preliminary schedules.Incorporate Resource and/or Cost Loading data into schedules as required.Serve as a technical advisor for solving difficult schedule problems.Ensure proper planning is completed before the commencement of work by consulting with project team members.Assist Project Managers in creating and monitoring schedule segments to determine the impact on the master schedule.Provide information on the content, modification, or presentation of project schedules as needed.Interface with internal and external stakeholders on planning and scheduling-related items, including reporting requirements and progress reporting.Identify scheduling software training needs among employees and provide training when necessary.Continuously expand and update professional knowledge and training skills to enhance individual and team innovation and productivity.Support the project team in project planning and tracking.Update project schedule status and overall project plan.Gather and analyze data for project reviews and meetings.Monitor and report project performance against the plan for all projects.Ensure adherence to company policies and advise management on needed actions.Maintain records and prepare charts, graphs, tables, reports, and other analyses as required.Participate in bid and proposal activities.Coordinate with the project team and customers under the direction of the Project Manager.Prepare customer communications as requested.Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization.Oversee, coach, and mentor lower-level team members when appropriate.Essential SkillsProficiency in Primavera P6.Experience with Heavy Industrial or Power Generation projects.Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.Five (5+) years of related experience in an EPC environment.Experience in planning and scheduling major power generation projects.Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public.Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.Ability to interpret extensive technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.Knowledge of resource loading scheduling software, project management scheduling applications, database management, spreadsheets, word processing software, electronic mail, graphics, technical diagrams, and flow charts.Additional Skills & QualificationsInternational business experience is desirable.Up to 20% travel required both domestically and internationally.Work Environment
This position ideally operates out of the Lake Mary office but may offer a hybrid work arrangement. The work environment includes standard office conditions with the use of typical office equipment and software.
