We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and organized Shaft Planner / Supervisor to join our team. The successful candidate will report to the General Foreperson, Shaft & Hoist, and will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling activities related to the maintenance, repair, and operation of our shaft facilities, in addition to supervision of the shaft crew when required. The Shaft Planner / Supervisor will ensure all activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
What you will do:
Develop and maintain detailed plans and schedules for shaft maintenance and repair activities. Develop complete detailed work order packages, managing resource availability, and material requirements. Manage department backlog, reporting, equipment records, and bill of materials to ensure accurate record keeping and continuous improvement. Monitor the progress of shaft-related projects and adjust schedules as necessary to meet project objectives. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all shaft-related activities. Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and safety. Supervision of the shaft crew as required.What you will bring:
Bachelor’s degree or technical diploma in a related field is preferred (Engineering, Project Management, Red Seal Trade, etc.) 3+ years of experience in a planning or coordination role within the mining or heavy equipment industry Experience in a supervisory role within the mining or heavy equipment industry is considered an asset Possession of a Supervisor Ticket or ability to obtain one Technical knowledge of mine shaft systems and equipment, and associated maintenance practices is considered an asset Proven ability to develop and manage detailed plans and schedules Excellent organizational and multitasking skills Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in using planning and scheduling software such as SAP, Microsoft Project or equivalent Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills Strong commitment to safety with working knowledge of the OHS & Mines Regulations
