Job Overview
This position is responsible for buying functions relating to supplies such as maintenance and safety. Provide maintenance and CapEx spend analysis for adherence to budget. Manages plant production scheduling through use of SAP planning tools to meet demand planning for customers. Negotiate the best price for supplies. Provides leadership on cost savings initiatives to achieve AOP expectations
Job Responsibilities
Adhere to all Safety rules and accountabilities while performing daily duties. Address positive and negative safety behaviors when observed. Regularly conduct safety tours to ensure equipment follows safety regulations and best practices. Work directly with facility staff members to ensure safe work practices. Controls inventory through daily monitoring of stock levels. Initiates the reordering of these supplies and follows up on their delivery Works closely with supply chain to identify supply constraints and develops action plans to avoid production and service impacts across multiple business interfaces Track reliability program and associated contractors through guidance of Maintenance/Engineering to ensure cost savings initiatives are utilized. Works in partnership with MRP Controller to ensure all raw materials & pigments are available 3 – 6 months in advance to meet MP production schedule needs. Prepares for special projects, overhauls, and plant shutdowns as far in advance as possible to meet deadlines and target costs without causing undue fluctuations in plant manpower Assists Materials Manager with vendor communication, product research projects and general administrative help. Manage raw material, work in progress and finished goods inventories to support Make to Stock manufacturing plan. Daily sourcing and ordering of parts and supplies, as well as issuing purchase orders. Generates process orders in SAP, Cork in SAP, process and file all documents and issues WIP & finished goods labels. Responsibility to manage the process of costing and set-up of new products. Dollar valuation of inventory and analysis of production variances. Creates new vendors when the need for a new source of supply is needed for competitive cost. Manages parts inventory and cost associated with each through use of auditing and SAP management. Works with Accounts Payable to resolve invoice issues to ensure payments are made timely to suppliers. Assesses submitted work orders and ensures materials are available for completion of repair by maintenance mechanics. Ensure work orders are completed and closed properly.
