Planning And Procurement Manager - Food Raw Materials
Minimum requirements for the role:
Previous experience having worked in a buyer/procurement role within the Food manufacturing industry procuring Food raw materials or Food Ingredients is essential. Previous experience and knowledge of the Food raw material supply chain market activities is preferred. Previous global/international sourcing/procurement is essential for the role. Knowledge of forex management processes as well as managing import logistics and costs is preferred. Must have good it skills in Microsoft applications, ERP and stock management systems. Must have a solid working knowledge of working capital aspects of procurement such as stock cover, safety stock, payment terms etc. The successful candidate should have excellent communication skills with strong analytical and negotiating skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Overseeing and managing all local and global/international procurement of food raw materials for the company. Identifying improvement opportunities e.g. cost savings, improving working capital aspects such as inventory cover and payment terms, and planning and implementing the same. Continuously and proactively pursuing multiple supply options as appropriate to ensure continuity and sustainability within the supply chain. Negotiating prices, and payment terms and establishing supply agreements where appropriate. Adhering to all procedures regarding quality management by meeting company raw material/product quality specifications, ensuring adequate communication of the same with suppliers, liaising with suppliers appropriately to address and managing instances of non-conformity. Maintaining an approved supplier list in line with company policy. Liaising with the sales team as well as senior management to manage fluctuations in costs and assisting with impact assessment before order confirmation. Working closely with the finance department to implement company Forex procedures and policies. Proactively assisting in managing excess stock levels. Preparing reports and presenting them to senior management. Salary package, including benefits, is highly negotiable depending on experience gained.
