Planning and Test Engineer
Amentum is actively seeking a Planning and Test Engineer under the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) PMS 326 Follow-On Technical Support (FOTS) contract. Role will be remote, with CONUS and OCONUS travel, as needed. **Compensation & Benefits** Hiring Salary Range: $110,000-$130,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant internal equity, and alignment with market data). For more detailed information on our Benefits and what it is like to work for Amentum: please visit our careers site: www.amentumcareers.com . **Essential responsibilities and daily duties include:** + Develop comprehensive maintenance plans and estimates for labor and materials for FFG-7 class ships, Cyclone PCs, and other FMS vessels in major maintenance availabilities such as Drydock Selective Restricted Availabilities (DSRA), Selective Restricted Availabilities (SRA), and other extended maintenance periods. + Collaborate with the Amentum CONUS Team, In-Country Teams, Port Engineers, and foreign navies to provide timely planning support including testing requirements and integration activities for FMS case ships and craft. + Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for maintenance planning and execution management. + Collaborate with engineering and logistics personnel to develop solutions to planning and execution issues in depot maintenance. + Develop and maintain the master Integrated Test Plan (ITP) for ships in major maintenance availabilities. + Validate and assess testing requirements for ships in major availabilities. + Ensure the requisite quality assurance (QA) is observed and documented. + Maintenance planning may include both corrective maintenance of installed systems and modernization/system upgrades to FMS platforms. + Work in a strong matrix and projectized environment, for multiple customers. + Develop actionable recommendations to complete maintenance availabilities meeting schedule, cost, and quality goals. + Develop lessons learned for maintenance and testing execution. + Provide timely and comprehensive inputs for various monthly status reports. **Minimum Requirements** + Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent. + 5 years of increasing engineering management responsibility, including at least 2 years of experience with USG ship or submarine construction or repair/overhaul experience obtained using quality assurance analysis techniques, test evaluation procedures, or test support requirements. + Ability to work independently and in a team environment. + Ability to communicate well verbally and in writing. + Ability to travel CONUS and OCONUS. + Ability to obtain a United States Passport. + Ability to obtain a secret US government clearance. Note: US citizenship is required to obtain a secret clearance. **Preferred Qualifications** + 10+ years of operations, maintenance, and repair experience with US Navy shipboard systems found on ships and submarines. + Experience in a maintenance planning role for ships or submarines. + Experience in a shipyard work environment as technical lead, oversight, or on-site support lead. + Additional quality, technical, and project-based certifications, such as NDT, Fiber-optic, Lean Six Sigma, CAPM, OSHA 10 Maritime, and Navy maintenance/leadership. + Knowledge and experience of shipyard maintenance processes, SOVT, testing, availability execution, corrective actions, rip-outs, and installations. + Prior experience as a USN/USCG E-6 or above.
