About The Position

The Planning Project Specialist is responsible for assisting Planning staff in meeting compliance requirements with IL Admin Code Parts 466 and 467 for distributed energy resources (DER) interconnection studies.  The Planning Project Specialist is also responsible for coordination of study activities between Planning, Transmission & Distribution Design, Region Engineering, Distribution Design Center, and DER Integration.

Key responsibilities include:

Independently establishes and leads cross-functional team and integrate all assigned resources.  Ensure team members understand their respective responsibilities and lead team to completion of assigned tasks.Administer, organize, manage and maintain project SharePoint sites, files, and documentation related to planning studies.Collaborates with others in managing and completing interconnect studies within the required timeline.Track status of key Department planning activities such as studies, Grid Plan projects, compliance reporting, etc.Participate on and/or lead meetings with customers and developers on studies or projects.Contribute to Department goals, objectives, plans, and performance metrics.Follow and adhere to Department policies, processes, procedures, and instructions.Assist as a SME in development of processes and procedures for planning studies. Other support activities as directed by supervision.Emergency call-out for storm restoration.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited University required, preferably in an engineering, engineering technology, or other technical discipline.  Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred. Five or more years of professional level experience in engineering, project management, planning, or work management required. Team leadership experience is preferred.   

In addition to the above qualifications, the successful candidate will demonstrate:

The Planning Project Specialist works a standard day shift in a hybrid work environment.  Minimal travel may be required. Proficiency in use of computers is required. Familiarity with MS Office suite (e.g., Excel) software products. Must have good analytical skills. Must also have the capability to work on major project teams.  Ability to handle multiple assignments/projects and priorities. Strong working knowledge of project management practices and SharePoint administration. Strong communication, organization, and human relations skills required.  Candidate should have the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. Must be detail-oriented while being able to envision the large picture and be able to work independently while working on multiple tasks. Must have excellent customer-service skills.

Compensation Range:

$86,400.00 - $133,900.00

At Ameren, base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Our pay ranges are broad to allow for movement within our organization and to accommodate different skill sets and levels of expertise. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including annual incentive payments based on individual and company performance.
