Planning & Purchasing Associate Director
Site Name: USA - Maryland - Rockville Posted Date: Jan 9 2025 GSK is currently looking for a Planning & Purchasing Associate Director to join our team in Rockville, MD. In this role, you will be responsible for production planning, direct materials planning and end to end (E2E) indirect purchasing at the Global Supply Chain (GSC) Rockville Biopharm manufacturing site. The manager works with site supply chain leadership, local and network stakeholders to ensure just-in-time materials availability to enable manufacturing schedule adherence. Key Responsibilities: Ensure just-in-time materials availability to enable drug substance manufacturing production schedule (MPS) adherence. Develop materials planning scenarios based on inputs from Global Planning and site Supply Planning Maintain optimal raw material inventory levels to ensure no stock outs and/or adversely impacting production schedule adherence, while eliminating expiry and maintaining on/offsite warehouses capacity at target Collaborate with External Manufacturing in providing materials support for CMO campaigns Coordinate with Finance, Supply Planning, External Manufacturing, and other network stakeholders to develop annual budget for materials per MPS, forecast and monitor inventory level and expenses, and adjust materials requirement planning (MRP) according to the latest demand estimates Perform management monitoring to ensure site follows corporate standards Manage material risks through: Proactive identification of supply risks, risk escalation at operational readiness governance and monthly Risk Management Board, and risk mitigation with local and central stakeholders (i.e., Central Procurement) Collaboration with Central Procurement to mitigate network supply risks with direct impact to our site Coordinate vendor change notifications Manage a team of production and material planning talents by: Adhering to Cost Centre budgeting and spending Defining team priorities and goals Managing team & functional performance to strive for excellence Developing and maintaining a high performing team that can execute to site’s strategy and vision Provide oversight to E2E indirect purchasing process and associated vendor management processes including compliance to third party risk management (TPRM) Ensure full compliance adherence to purchasing policies and procedures Embed a continuous improvement mindset and execute the GSK Production System to drive sustainable systems Creating a team culture that complies with GSK Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion objectives, and Values of Ambitious for Patients, Accountable for Impact, and Do the Right Thing. Basic Qualifications: We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals: BS Degree in business/management, supply chain or engineering fields Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Procurement/Supply Chain Operations. Preferred Qualifications: If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: Coaching and mentoring of direct staff to retain talents for GSK Ability to develop and execute purchasing and planning strategies based on evolving supply chain landscape Experience with SAP for Materials/Production Planning and warehouse capacity planning Effective with material requirements planning and resolving vendor schedule issues Inventory expiry management Development and creation of performance management dashboard for KPI trending & monitoring Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives Understand planning parameters and material flow Comfortable working in a matrix & global team environment Effective team management High competency in SAP, Microsoft Suite #LI-GSK The annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $109,725 to $182,875 taking into account a number of factors including work location within the US market, the candidate’s skills, experience, education level and the market rate for the role. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program which is dependent on the level of the role.
