In this position you will provide readiness and plan administration to the 412th Force Support Squadron and mortuary support to Edwards AFB as assigned by the Operations Officer. Prepare resource and capability reports, conduct monthly training records reviews, schedule and facilitate quarterly trainings. Ensure all deploying personnel activities are completed. Must attend the Mortuary Technician (MT) training course conducted by the Eaker Center and additional follow on courses offered by AFMAO. Obtain and maintain user access to the Defense Casualty Information Processing System (DCIPS) for use in mortuary case management. Performs mortuary affairs administration functions. Trains search and recovery teams. Conducts search &recovery of human remains. Ensures mortuary entitlements, escorts, and military honors are arranged. Oversees and updates the Security Plan, and Anti-terrorism planning to include formulation of integrated defense, changes in technology, tactics, techniques, and procedures in concert with MAJCOM guidance. Lead emergency management efforts to include: reviewing Unit Control Center (UCC) checklists quarterly, scheduling UCC Operations , reviewing Shelter-in-Place checklists, inspecting Shelter-in-Place (SIP) requirements across all FSS facilities, and conduct Emergency Management exercises as dictated by the Inspector General. In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions located here SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NH-01 or equivalent to the next lower grade GS-04 in the Federal Service. Conducts reviews and damage assessments. Lead emergency management. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of the operations, products, services, needs, and goals of the program(s) and the organizations studied or served, and related customers, functions, resources, and users. Knowledge of analytical and evaluative techniques used to identify, consider, and resolve issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of program operations to devise organizational structuring options for complex, diverse organizations. Skill in gathering, assembling, and analyzing facts; drawing conclusions; devising solutions to problems; identifying changes and trends; and preparing and presenting briefings and reports. Skill to carry out and complete assignments involving work with diverse and dynamic groups by gaining their cooperation with tact, courtesy, and diplomacy and moving them towards an ownership of their objective without imposing personal bias. Knowledge of mortuary business and trade practices, characteristics, and methods of administering, delivering, and evaluating operations. Knowledge of training techniques, characteristics, and methods of administering, delivering, and evaluating operations. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to gain cooperation from others through tact, courtesy, and diplomacy.
