Job DescriptionBasic FunctionIncumbent assists with accounting functions for facility, ensuring financial integrity of the plant operations. Functions as a key member of the plant management team.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssists Plant Controller in providing financial direction/support to plant management team.Participate in month-end close activities (create/post financial and statistical journal entries, prepare standard financial and operational reports, analyze and explain operational activities/related variances, analyze and report on monthly plant performance).Prepare financial analysis to monitor spending in key areas (labor, scrap, spending, inventory, etc.).Assist in establishing, monitoring and enforcing internal controls and in ensuring compliance with division policies and procedures.Participate in and facilitate cost reduction/elimination programs and ideas.Provide financial reporting of plant results in an accurate and timely manner.Assist in the development of annual plant budget and periodic forecasts as necessary.General ledger maintenance, transactional processing and journal entry creation.Prepare various financial models as appropriate; prepare and review various account reconciliations.Maintain statistical model for product segment allocations and analysis.Gather information relative to cost/benefit analysis and other plant financial initiatives.Process debit/credit memo transactions (customer returns/claims, scrap/regrind shipments) and intercompany transfers.Prepare sales and use tax returns and provide support for federal and state income and property tax returns, as applicable.Review petty cash reconciliation on a monthly basis.Review freight payable on a monthly basis.May be required to perform other projects/tasks as assigned by the Plant Controller.Reporting Relationships/Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position reports directly to the Plant Controller. Incumbent will be required to regularly interface internally across departments in order to ensure fulfillment of obligations and commitments.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and three to five years related financial experience required. Plant manufacturing and cost accounting experience preferred.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong interpersonal skills are required. Strong written, verbal and comprehension skills are required. Strong presentation skills are a plus. Incumbent should be an effective team player and facilitator.
Technical Skills:
Strong problem solving and analytical skills are required for this position. Ability to learn and utilize various computer software applications is required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel) required. Knowledge of SAP applications preferred.
Other:
High degree of attention to detail is required.
