What you will be doing 
The Plant Accounting Manager will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the financial statements at the plant level by enforcing proper internal control compliance, training and developing plant office staff, establishing best practices, and providing guidance for planning and reporting for our San Leandro, California Milk Manufacturing Plant.

Main responsibilities
•     Drive successful Sox-compliant results by monitoring adherence to key controls, performing internal audits, identifying risk in controls, implementing mitigation strategy of identified risk, and reporting related metrics to finance and ops leadership.
•    Maintain a functioning relationship with the Internal Audit (IA) department and other groups responsible for audits outside of IA concerning Manufacturing’s Internal Control Procedures
•    Conduct a periodic review of plant functions to ensure compliance with segregation of duties requirements
•    Evaluate business processes and partner with peer Plant Accounting Managers to establish best practice procedures 
•    Develop a robust on-boarding process for new office staff, incorporate key milestones for 7/30/60/90/360 day, evaluate progress, track and communicate progress with Management
•    Manage plant front office by hiring, coaching, helping prioritize and providing performance feedback and mentoring.
•    Assure changes made to the manufacturing and financial systems (ex: Oracle) are properly communicated and training is conducted throughout the Plant staff 
•    Train office staff to analyze Manufacturing data for areas such as sales and returns, purchasing, accounts payable, production, and inventory management.  
•    Contribute to the development of the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and provide period end variance reviews and analytics to finance and operations leadership 
•    Guide period close process, cascading financials, and data gathering requirements for VPM and M&W reporting
•    Supervise the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and inventory activities of accounting personnel, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
•    Manage the accounting period close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial review of the Cause of Change and Earnings to support strategic decision-making and reporting 
•    Manage the preparation of Federal or State mandated reporting documents & participate in required audits 
•    Oversee the daily movement and payments for raw milk if applicable
•    Participate in period close finance review of the Cause of Change and Earnings with specific account ownership 
Prepare and present financial and compliance reports for periodic staff and quarterly business reviews


What we are searching for 
•    Bachelors’ Degree Preferred or relevant work experience with strong emphasis in accounting 
•    Manufacturing Accounting Experience (3+ years) or Corporate FP&A Experience (5+ years) Required
•    Strong understanding of internal control procedures and requirements
•    Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley Reporting (Sox) and Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP)
•    General accounting and budgeting required (3-5 years)
•    Strong knowledge of ERP Systems (ex: Oracle)
•    Inventory reporting and analysis
•    Strong analytical skills
•    Strong oral and written communication skills
•    Expertise in Project Management 
•    Strong Time Management Skills
•    Excel, Access, PowerPoint, MS Project, Word

Travel Requirements:
•    10% to 25%
