Job Summary
This position is the lead finance person for Dorman’s driveline manufacturing and distribution operations, a component of Dorman’s Light Duty Segment, comprising two legal entities and two associated manufacturing and distributing operations. Responsibilities include budgeting, financial analysis, the monthly close process, financial reporting and helping to drive plant productivity. In addition, the Plant Controller is responsible for ensuring the integrity of the financial records and safeguarding of assets ensuring a strong internal control environment. This is a hybrid role with the ability to work from home one day per week.
Primary Duties
+ Partner with the Driveline General Manager to provide financial leadership in support of strategic initiatives.
+ Perform monthly accounting close and reporting activities as part of the consolidated reporting for Dorman Products, Inc. Responsibilities include accounting for a stand-alone operation, with P&L responsibilities (net sales through operating income), balance sheet and cash management (e.g., accounts receivable collections, accounts payable processing), and performance of accounting controls (e.g., balance sheet reconciliations).
+ Handle all aspects of inventory accounting and management.
+ Lead cost reviews and drive cost management with plant teams by developing cost-saving plans and measuring execution against the plans.
+ Drive annual budget and standard cost-setting process and provide support for quarterly forecast updates.
+ Manage one direct report.
Qualifications
+ Excellent Microsoft Office skills especially Excel (Pivot Tables, V-Lookup, etc)
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability for occasional business travel (Reno, NV and Colmar, PA)
Education / Experience
+ Bachelor's degree required. Accounting or Finance concentration is preferred. CPA and/or MBA a plus.
+ 7+ years of experience in accounting / cost accounting; Big 4 experience a plus.
+ Experience working in a manufacturing and/or distribution environment is a MUST; automotive industry is a plus.
+ Demonstrated leadership experience.
+ Experience working in a publicly traded company is preferred.
