Plant Controller
MAU is hiring a Plant Controller for JTEKT in Morristown, TN. As a Plant Controller, you will manage plant financials, oversee financial reporting, analyze variances, lead budgeting and forecasting activities, ensure accurate inventory accounting, support audits, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve plant performance and guide financial decisions. Benefits Package Annual bonus 401k matching Life insurance Health insurance Dental insurance Vision insurance Short term disability Long term disability Paid time off Health savings account Shift Information Monday to Friday | 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Required Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting (or a related business field with relevant experience) 10 years of progressive experience in finance/accounting within manufacturing, including at least 5 years in a Controller or Manager role General Requirements Strong ethical standards, attention to detail, and the ability to address concerns professionally while navigating difficult topics across functions Extensive financial/accounting experience with a focus on analytical activities, such as financial analysis and planning Collaborative, open-minded, and team-oriented approach essential for success Experience in manufacturing with knowledge of standard costing practices and inventory management Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Ability to develop personnel through effective performance planning, monitoring, coaching, and counseling Proficient in Excel Experience with fully integrated ERP systems (Oracle preferred) Candidates open to eventual relocation to other facilities or positions within finance or other functions are highly encouraged CPA or CMA certification preferred Essential Functions Oversee preparation of weekly and monthly Profit and Loss Statements, financial metric analysis, and other performance documents, including reconciliation of general ledger accounts monthly Ensure integrity and timely close of plant month-end financials, collaborating closely with manufacturing operations for effective production variance analysis Analyze and approve capital requests, monitor CIP spending, ensure timely and accurate project closures, and manage semi-annual equipment inventories Manage plant inventory accounting, develop standard costs, and conduct annual analysis of labor and overhead rates for proper absorption Lead the bi-annual financial planning process, ensuring timely and accurate completion of Business Planning forms, data consolidation, and recommendation of plans to meet objectives Co-lead (with PC) physical inventories, analyze variances, recommend countermeasures, and perform inventories at least twice annually or more frequently as needed Collaborate with the cross-functional management team to improve plant performance and guide financial decisions through result and forecast analysis, policy enforcement, and process monitoring Manage and conduct financial and functional J-SOX (Japanese SOX) activities Support quarterly and annual audits, both internal and external Partner with cross-functional team members and shared services groups at both the business unit and corporate levels Conduct miscellaneous financial analysis and activities as needed, potentially involving other plants/facilities
