Plant Controller
Description Standard Cost System Management: Supervise the maintenance of the standard cost system, including tasks such as manufacturing accounting, variance analysis, and ensuring the accuracy of Bills of Materials (BOMs) within an ERP system. Daily Cost Accounting: Oversee daily operations related to cost accounting, including setting current costing rates, conducting yield analysis, labor reporting, managing monthly close processes, and analyzing performance against expectations. Financial Improvement Initiatives: Partner with Operations Engineering to drive financial improvements based on performance analysis and the execution of annual business plan initiatives. Annual Cost Updates: Lead the annual process of updating product costs for all SKUs and product categories, covering both internally and externally manufactured products. Cost Estimation: Review and evaluate cost estimates for new or special products to establish selling prices and ensure gross margins are met. Inventory Control: Develop and implement inventory control measures, including a robust cycle count process, and lead the annual physical inventory counts with operations. Production Order Reconciliation: Establish a process for reconciling production orders to identify material and production variances, track production yields, and identify areas for improvement. BOM Accuracy: Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure the accuracy and currency of Bills of Materials. Financial Reporting: Prepare and present financial and operational reports to management, including ad hoc financial analyses. Financial Analysis Tools: Develop tools to support management decisions on production improvements, capital expenditures, and cost reduction initiatives. Business Initiatives: Lead or participate in business initiatives and special projects aimed at enhancing financial and operational efficiency. Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the development of annual budgets, periodic forecasts, and multi-year strategic plans for operations and supply chain activities. Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to direct reports, fostering professional growth and collaboration to achieve corporate and professional goals. Proven experience in manufacturing cost accounting is required. Analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail. Proficient in using an ERP system and Microsoft Office, advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel.
