Plant Controller
Required Competencies/Skills
a. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
b. 3+ years of experience as a Plant Controller.
c. 3+ years of experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
d. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes.
e. Initiative to drive process changes, innovation, and continuous improvement.
f. Proficient in English (spoken and written).
g. Analytical, with critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
h. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
i. Experience in the manufacturing/automotive industry.
j. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with problem-solving and decision-making responsibilities.
k. Strong communication skills (verbal and written) across individual, team, and group settings.
l. Certified in Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma.
m. Experience in Cost Accounting.
General Responsibilities
a. Ensure compliance and control in financial records, standard costs, inventory, and payroll.
b. Safeguard company assets, including materials and fixed assets.
c. Reconcile physical fixed assets with accounting records.
d. Act as the plant’s internal control leader, driving compliance with company policies and procedures.
e. Analyze, understand, and review manufacturing costs at the plant level.
f. Support the Plant Manager with analysis, production plans, manufacturing forecasts, and accuracy.
g. Lead operational teams by providing cost analyses to develop and implement cost-reduction plans and corrective actions.
h. Monitor and manage standard vs. actual costs, with the ability to understand and explain key variances.
i. Collaborate with SCM and Engineering to analyze material usage and understand/explain variances.
j. Work with PC&L to manage material receipt and shipment controls.
k. Support plants with daily/weekly monitoring and active participation, providing financial data and analysis for short-term actions and strategic decision-making.
l. Assist Program Management and Commercial departments with business cases and cost recovery activities.
m. Support the Corporate Finance Shared Services team (Accounting, Tax, Customs, Treasury, Audit).
n. Contribute to fostering innovation while maintaining a strong focus on data-driven decision-making.
