Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Plant Controller in the Wood & Furniture Manufacturing industry, located in Virginia Beach, Virginia. As a Plant Controller, you will be in charge of overseeing all aspects of the plant’s performance and ensuring the efficient allocation of resources. You will also be tasked with mentoring and training supervisors and managing materials.
Responsibilities:
• Oversee the entire plant's performance, ensuring planned capacity and expected GP are achieved each month.
• Demonstrate critical thinking by understanding varying perspectives, identifying root causes, and suggesting sustainable solutions.
• Train and mentor supervisors, empower employees, and identify high potential individuals.
• Make decisions regarding the efficient allocation of resources, including material, manpower, and profitability.
• Evaluate and improve existing standards, processes, and procedures to enhance the overall efficiency and profitability of manufacturing operations.
• Build and sustain strong working relationships.
• Manage and deliver against several initiatives simultaneously.
• Prioritize, organize effectively, make decisions, and solve problems under pressure.
• Ensure the production of quality products that meet industry and AGI standards and best practices, and ship them on time to exceed customer expectations.
• Execute the plant production schedule and provide daily/weekly guidance to ensure success.
• Communicate priorities clearly and establish procedures/processes to ensure unity of efforts to meet customer expectations.
• Maintain a safe working environment for employees.
• Organize the factory effectively to accomplish jobs as efficiently as possible.
• Manage materials, review weekly counts, and ensure high lead time materials are monitored proactively.
• Collaborate with the plant controller to ensure the accuracy of financials. Requirements • Possess 10 or more years of experience in the Wood & Furniture Manufacturing industry.
• Hold expertise in using 3M and Eaton for plant control operations.
• Proficient in using Accounting Software Systems and Epicor for managing accounting functions.
• Have an in-depth understanding of accounting functions, including but not limited to, preparing an annual budget, conducting audits, and managing budget processes.
• Demonstrated experience in handling operational risk and ensuring production efficiency.
• Proven ability to develop, implement, and manage the annual budget of a manufacturing plant.
• Experience in auditing procedures, ensuring the adherence to regulatory standards and company policies.
• Proficient in managing budget processes, making sure all financial operations are in line with the company's budget.
• Proven experience in managing operational risk, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the plant.
• Have a strong understanding of production processes in the Wood & Furniture Manufacturing industry.
