Plant Controller
Job Title: Plant Controller Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Controller to manage and oversee inventory control, valuation, and overall financial reporting for our plant. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in coordinating inventory management, ensuring the integrity of inventory systems, and preparing monthly operations reports. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong IT proficiency, and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Responsibilities + Responsible for proper control and valuation of inventory, including individual item cost reported from production. + Maintain statistics regarding variances to modeled cost. + Coordinate and challenge various managers in all areas of inventory management, including inventory levels, aged inventories, research of problems as necessary, inventory consolidations, and other inventory issues. + Communicate actual and model cost to the commercial team for pricing as requested. + Perform month-end inventory closing cycle with related accounting and reporting. + Maintain integrity of the entire inventory system by becoming proficient in the Infor M3 ERP system. + Prepare monthly operations reports due 5 business days following month-end, which include plant production statistics, trend analysis, plant cost statistics, labor statistics, variance analysis, and overall site performance statistics. + Manage and report capital project spending. + Administer the Profit Improvement Program in conjunction with various department managers. + Review plant expenses monthly and be proactive in cost control. + Prepare forecasts and the annual plant budget. + Complete special projects as directed by the Sr. Finance Director, encompassing all facets of the accounting function. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from an accredited institution. + Minimum of 5+ years of experience in accounting or a related field. + Strong cost accounting, month-end, and general ledger skills. + Proficiency in financial reporting and manufacturing environments. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. + Ability to establish credibility, be decisive, and work effectively with diverse personalities. + Strong leadership and motivational skills. + Good business acumen and performance measurement abilities. + Proficient in IT, particularly Excel and Accounting systems. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Ability to lead and motivate staff while maintaining a productive working environment. + Experience in control and risk management, and information management. Work Environment This role requires working in the office from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with the opportunity to work from home one day a week once acclimated.
