Plant Controller - Pleasant Prairie-WI
Scope of the Role The Plant Controller serves as the primary finance and accounting leader at the site. In this capacity the role involves providing analysis, management reporting, planning, and accounting support to our growing global business. The ability to work independently while being a true business partner to other site leaders is crucial. Duties and Responsibilities Based in Pleasant Prairie, WI, the Plant Controller is responsible for completing month end close for the Pleasant Prairie facility. This position is responsible for assuring that Spectrum financial policies and procedures are implemented according to corporate policy in the highest possible level of financial integrity and reliability. As part of the Specialty & Medical Flexibles division, the Plant Controller should provide meaningful and insightful analysis to plant operations and results to support divisional goals. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Plant month end close and financial reporting (~30%) + Complete and process monthly journal entries + Balance sheet reconciliations + Weekly expense reporting / forecasting + Financial month end close process + Monthly forecasting and trend analysis + Annual budgeting and Rolling Forecast Accounts Payable/Receivable (~10%) + Oversee routing of invoices for payment + Work with Shared Services to troubleshoot any cash application and payment issues Travel & P-card Administrator (~10%) + Concur administrator for site personnel (T&E) + Manage out of pocket reimbursements + Monthly Concur Accrual and Expense Treasury management (~10%) + Manage and Reconcile monthly intercompany accounting + Month end cash closing Other duties include, project management, costing, scrap tracking, capital expenditure tracking, continuous improvement projects, sales and use tax filing, forecasting (weekly and monthly), budget, and external & internal audit support (~40%). Qualifications Key Skills and Attributes + Bachelor’s degree (accounting major) with major coursework in business, finance accounting, and at least 5 years accounting/financial analysis experience within a manufacturing company. + MBA, CPA, CMA, or other professional accounting designation is desired. + Must be highly computer literate with data mining and ERP systems, have strong communication, interpersonal, organizational, time management and analytical skills. Requires deadline driven, high-energy individual, able to work autonomously and lead as key contributor on teams. IQMS ERP system experience a plus. + The individual will be expected to be familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting and finance field, including cost accounting. + Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. + Be able to perform a variety of tasks and work under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. + This position must always conduct themselves with professionalism in accordance with Spectrum core values. + Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, strong interpersonal skills are a must, as well as willingness to accept and task ownership of new responsibilities in a fast-growing environment. + Travel will be necessary occasionally. + Additional requirements include a working knowledge of MS Excel, Word, and Outlook, and the ability to multi-task with moderate supervision. Experience with Cognos products would be plus, but not required.
