The Plant Engineer will define, organize, plan, and execute all small capital investment projects to ensure cost-effectiveness, timeliness, and safety using state-of-the-art engineering concepts. This role requires ensuring that all activities in the assigned area comply with accepted engineering practices, regulations, cGMP standards, and company policies. The Plant Engineer will provide technical expertise to maintain and continuously improve assigned areas, minimize costs, and ensure the safe and high-quality operation of the plant. The role may also involve being project responsible for medium-sized capital projects.
Responsibilities
+ Provide technical expertise and services for small capital project delivery at Tippecanoe Laboratories.
+ Coordinate small capital and technical change projects through design, construction, commissioning, qualification, and start-up, including developing scopes, managing change controls, and generating and executing system qualification packages.
+ Serve as project responsible/Project Manager or consultant when necessary for large capital projects/customer projects.
+ Meet site objectives in areas such as small capital project delivery, plant engineering support, equipment reliability, and productivity projects using both external and internal resources.
+ Make and influence key decisions, taking responsibility for time schedules, costs, quality, and plant/area operability.
+ Originate and develop technical changes and improvements, along with supporting documentation.
+ Create and maintain engineering specifications, standards, and equipment work instructions to increase equipment uptime and reduce maintenance and spare part costs.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
+ 4+ years of experience as a plant engineer supporting large capex projects.
+ Capability to manage a budget of $2.5M - $3M per year.
+ Experience in designing and developing plant layouts.
+ Experience in pharmaceutical, chemicals, oil & gas, and manufacturing engineering.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with safety instrumented systems is a plus.
+ GMP experience is a plus.
Work Environment
This role operates in an on-site manufacturing environment, working within the plant. There is a strong emphasis on safety and compliance, with opportunities for growth within the company, which is one of the largest manufacturers of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API) in the nation and the second largest in the world.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $65.00/hr.
