Job Title: Plant Engineer

Job Description

The Plant Engineer provides overall leadership to the organization regarding the successful design, construction, commissioning, and maintenance of all facility systems, including, but not limited to, building, infrastructure, and utilities. As the company grows, they have plans to open a new manufacturing facility overseas, and this person will lead and manage both facilities.

ResponsibilitiesProvide direct oversight of the Maintenance, Facilities, Setup, and CNC departments, as well as current and future company buildings.Manage and develop staff, facilitating and assisting in their development and growth within the company.Provide direction and leadership in the execution of all plant engineering related activities carried out on-site, including site master plans, automation, capital projects, and equipment commissioning and validation.Motivate, recruit, and develop key employees, creating a culture of efficient execution and an environment for continuous improvement.Manage external professional engineering and other outside vendors for equipment, facility, and utility modifications, upgrades, or expansions.Lead and support activities necessary to ensure successful completion of engineering projects within set timelines and budgetary constraints.Ensure all facility systems, utilities, and equipment are properly maintained for efficient utilization and execution of daily laboratory and manufacturing activities.Support Maintenance lead and staff in developing a state-of-the-art Preventative Maintenance program and respective KPIs.Create and upgrade Engineering and Maintenance procedures, provide training, and ensure continuous improvements in methods, processes, and compliance.Review and negotiate contracts with third-party contractors and equipment manufacturers to protect the company’s operational and legal interests.Work with the legal team and stakeholders to ensure contracts are complete, accurate, and compliant with terms and conditions.Direct and coordinate activities supporting the timely and efficient repair and maintenance of all process equipment and facility systems.Support the Value Improvement Program (VIP) and Cost Improvement Program (CIP), ensuring project savings are achieved in a timely manner.Manage Engineering and Site Capital Project budgets.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in Engineering required (Electrical/Mechanical preferred)10+ years of experience in manufacturing-based industries in Engineering, Maintenance, Facilities (HVAC, Utilities, Structural, etc.)Experience in the Medical Device industry, including FDA and ISO experienceExperience managing multisite international facilities and utilities engineeringKnowledge of Lean manufacturing principlesAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience with continuous improvement methodologiesHVAC expertiseSix Sigma certificationElectrical and troubleshooting skillsExperience with commissioning, validation, and structural engineeringPay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $125000.00 - $135000.00/yr.
