Foreman - Aggregates

Position Summary

Supervise operational activities which may include pit and/or plant production (secondary processing plant), plant maintenance, and mobile equipment in one of our plants.

Responsibilities

Project management within the Irwindale Quarry a priority Coordination between contractors and Martin Marietta crews for projects within the quarry.Project planning within quarry to minimize production loss Responsible for training and development of team, scheduling, performance management, and effective leadership of hourly workforceSuccessfully lead the Company's safety initiativesWorking knowledge and understanding of MSHA regulations and possess a strong personal commitment to safetyImplement environmental processes and regulationsSuccessfully lead and manage to established production, safety, and environmental objectives and metricsParticipate in yearly planning of quarry production, maintenance, and salary costs to meet budget goalsOther duties as assignedBe knowledgeable of city ordinances and regulations. Very strong verbal and written communication skills and comfortable interacting with a variety of internal and external personnel.Strong computer skills including standard Microsoft Office applications, budgeting software and scheduling software.Ability to motivate and foster relationships to enhance a cooperative team environment.Ability to develop professional relationships with representatives and officials from local agencies.Ability to resolve conflicts and job-related disputes diplomatically and tactfully.Ability to manage time, tasks, and resources on multiple operations effectively and efficiently.Ability to work a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekend hours.Self-motivated and able to work with limited supervision.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mining, Civil), Business, or equivalent experience preferred2+ years' experience in aggregate operations with understanding of mineral processing equipment such as crushers, screens, conveyors, and associated mobile equipment preferredMinimum 1-year supervisory experience in a mining environment preferredExcellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skillsProficient on PC to include MS Office suite; Aggflow or other similar a plusExperience with pit design/exploration, drilling, blasting, inventory control, inventory measures and customer service preferredAbility to work flexible schedule as required; including nights and weekends

Salary Posting:

The base salary compensation, exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary), will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Additionally, at Martin Marietta we place a high value on internal pay equity and will consider the compensation for those in similarly situated roles and direct team members. The posted range for this role represents the total reasonable pay range and does not solely represent a hiring range. Therefore, hiring at the top or maximum of the range should not be expected as it would not allow for salary growth opportunities in the role, would diminish promotion value, and may not align with internal equity.
