The role
As a Plant Hire Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You’ll be responsible for the safe conduct of work whether using in house and/or contractor resources employed on the maintenance or development of plant and equipment in accordance with approved schemes of work.
Day-to-day, you’ll manage the provision of speedy hire Low Pressure Air Compressors (LPAC) and associated equipment for Major Infrastructure Project (MIP) responsible areas.
To provide technical and planning assistance for the delivery and collection of speedy hire equipment within MIP responsible areas. To carry out daily checks of all speedy hired assets within the MIP areas of responsibility. To arrange and manage SQEP contractor support services, as required, for the above Plant and equipment. To manage the daily checks and maintenance of all speedy hire LPA equipment in the MIP areas of control. To report and investigate occurrences and incidents in accordance with company procedures. To ensure the safety of Plant and equipment during maintenance.
This role is full time 35, hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard
Essential experience of the Plant Hire Engineer
Competent in verbal and written communications. Good interpersonal skills. IT literate.
Qualifications for the Plant Hire Engineer
Level 2/3 mechanical qualification or equivalent. IOSH.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
