Applicant will be required to join Local No. 720 Position SummaryThis position involves various manual tasks including, but not limited to, the following: shoveling; sweeping; lifting, pushing and pulling various objects and raking. Willingness to learn to operate various equipment, such as a skid steer, backhoe, pavers, rollers, etc. ResponsibilitiesEnsures a safe work environment in compliance with all safety policies and procedures using the appropriate tools and equipment for the taskPerforms a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy/highway construction projects; performs manual work in preparing surfaces for pavingShovels, rakes and spreads asphalt materialAssists in patching asphalt with hot and cold mixExcavates and fills trenches and ditchesCoordinates backing of truck and dumping asphalt into paverAssists in placement and moving of various traffic control devicesKnowledge, Skills and AbilitiesMust be safety-oriented and exhibit safe work habitsSelf-motivated and eager to learn new skillsPerform well in a “TEAM” environmentAbility to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistencyWilling to work hours that are associated to the asphalt industry, including overtime and weekends as neededAbility to follow verbal and written instructionBasic mathematical skillsValid driver license is requiredPass a pre-employment physical and drug screenMinimum Education and Experience1-3 years construction industry experience preferredHigh School Diploma or equivalent preferredPhysical Requirements & ConditionsAbility to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and tolerate being exposed to loud noiseAbility to lift 75 poundsMust be able to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of material

Salary Posting:We are excited to share the base hourly rate for this position is $23.59+. Membership with the Laborers International Union, Local No. 720 is required upon hire. Condition and terms of employment and benefits are in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.
