Position Overview:
Under the direction of the VP of Operations, the Plant Manager is responsible for safe, effective, and efficient operation of the facility. The Plant Manager will be required to predictably attain or exceed all operational goals and financial goals for the facility. Responsibilities include safety, quality, on time delivery, productivity, and morale, with an emphasis on continuous improvement through employee engagement.

Essential Functions:
+ Lead safety culture: to ensure facility is consistent with Brunswick policies and procedures and all regulatory agencies state, federal and local. Create a vision and drive improvement year over year.
+ Develop operational and team goals aligned with business and financial plans, lead and coordinate team to execute these plans.
+ Create, monitor and maintain production schedules to meet all customer delivery requirements, coordinate schedules across functions and manufacturing areas.
+ Determine plant performance metrics (e.g., manufacturing variances), institute processes and metrics to measure and monitor performance (and to communicate to all levels of the organization).
+ Lead all materials management activities to ensure optimal parts presentation and inventory levels.
+ Analyze and react to plant performance metrics. Develop short term and long-term countermeasures to meet or exceed goals.
+ Develop operational and facility plans for both near-term and long-term.
+ Review overall labor and material requirements to minimize overtime costs without jeopardizing necessary functions and customer delivery (and quality) requirements.
+ Direct the problem-solving activities of the manufacturing operations, driving those activities to the point of impact.
+ Establish and manage budgets and targets for assigned areas of responsibility.
+ Create a continuous improvement culture through the deployment of lean principles.
+ Achieve or exceed financial goals for the facility.
+ Lead and participate in cost reduction activities.

Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Management or other related discipline is required. An MBA is preferred.
+ 15+ years’ experience in manufacturing environment with progressive responsibility leading a team, preferably leader of entire operations.
+ Proven Lean manufacturing experience and VA/VE (Value Analysis/Value Engineering) experience is required.
+ Excellent interpersonal skills, written and verbal communication skills required.
+ Outstanding analytical and statistical technical skills are required to gather and summarize data to find solutions in product, manufacturing, and services.
+ Technical or professional knowledge of business planning, facility planning, and headcount planning is required.

+ Financial: Ability to create financial plans supported by operational plans, necessary to assess and respond to financial performance.
+ Excitement: Operating with a good deal of energy, intensity and emotional expression; having a capacity for keeping others enthusiastic and involved.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ A hands-on leader who desires to spend time on the shop floor interacting with people helping and guiding them to solve the problems they are experiencing in their area.
+ Experience in starting up green field operations would be helpful.
+ Experience with OSHA and DEP regulations.
+ Knowledge and experience setting up production lines. Balancing workload and optimizing high variation mixed model lines.

+ Shop floor working environment.
+ Shop floor is non-climate controlled. Temperature fluctuates with outside environmental conditions, such as air temperature, radiant heat from sunlight, air movement, and humidity levels.
+ Frequent exposure to high temperatures, including a hot and humid environment, especially during summer months.
+ Noise level is moderate with intervals of spikes.
+ Required to wear safety glasses, hearing protection, and utilize other safety equipment and personal protect equipment (PPE) while present on the production/shop floor.
+ Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, resins, fiberglass dust & cloths, epoxy, composites, and other chemicals.
+ Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of times.
+ Ability to regularly bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crouch, reach, climb, and lift or move up to 35 pounds.
+ Vision abilities required include close vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
