This is a full-time, exempt level position.
Position Summary:
Provide leadership and execution of site strategy delivering on business objectives, continuous improvement processes and day to day operations of the Harvard, CO PetDine pet treat plant. This position is responsible for the safe, successful and progressive day-to-day operational activities and maintaining compliance with company policies, government regulation and regulatory agencies (OSHA, EPA, DNR, FDA, USDA, FRA, HACCP, etc.). The facility blends, mixes, extrudes, bakes, packages and warehouses various raw materials into animal treats with approximately 400 ADM-PetDine and temporary colleagues.
Job Responsibilities:Actively work to ensure that all employees, visitors, vendors and contractors understand and align with the ADM safety policies and proceduresRequire safety and compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations not limited to lockout/tagout, hot work, confined spaces and working at heights.Work closely with Food Safety and Quality personnel to ensure continuous audit readiness in a Food Safety plantUtilize assets efficiently to meet production and quality goalsLead site in establishing policies, procedures and plant prioritiesLead plant operations in a manner that results in a cohesive, focused, positive climate to achieve organizational goals driving high employee engagement and morale.Provide mentorship to department superintendents and engineers to achieve short term and long-term department performance through use of KPI’s, continuous improvement, and Performance Excellence conceptsEmbrace an owner’s mentality by managing costs and continuously focus on efficiency improvementEnsure training and development of all plant employeesProvide mentorship, accountability, and disciplinary support as necessaryMinimum Requirements:A Bachelor’s degree or higher of Science, Continuous Improvement, Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or similar area of concentration5+ years of experience leading a production environment in food, pet food processing or similar industryExcellent leadership ability including a vision for strategic direction, delegation and leading others in work executionKnowledge of GMP, HACCP, & Food Safety Standards is vitalExcellent written and verbal interpersonal skillsExcellent planning and organizational skillsProven track record as a phenomenal teammateHigh energy level and clear customer focus emphasisAbility to prioritize workloadMake decisions in a fair and professional mannerPossess the ability to climb stairs, lift up to 55 lbs, prolonged periods of standing and sitting, computer work, providing calculated information, working from heights, bending, kneeling, working adjusted hours, and in various climatesPreferred Requirements8+ years of experience leading a production environment in food, pet food processing or similar industryContinuous Improvement leadership and application of CI processes in a production environment.Demonstrated scale-up experience and/or new technology development experience in a production environmentKnowledge of multiple processes and unit operations in a full-scale production plant not limited to mixers, blenders, extruders, SURP and jar packaging system, and finished goods warehousing applications
