We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Plant Manager with union experience and a proven track record of leading a large team to oversee our manufacturing operations at Precision Brand. The Plant Manager will be responsible for ensuring efficient production, maintaining high safety standards, and fostering a positive work environment within a unionized workforce. The plant manager will report directly to the general manager.

Operational Management:

Oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed.Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labor, and equipment to meet production and inventory targets. Prepare and control annual operating budgets and capital budgets.Monitor production schedules and adjust as needed to meet deadlines.Manage production KPI metrics covering safety (zero incidents), quality, on time delivery, and productivity through daily GAMBA walks.

Labor Relations:

Foster a positive working relationship with union representatives and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.Participate in union negotiations and discussions as needed.Adherence to the company policies along with the plant code of conduct and procedures.

Quality and Safety:

Ensure all products meet quality standards and specifications.Implement and maintain health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.Oversee maintenance activities for equipment, buildings and grounds.

Team Leadership:

Lead, coach, train, and develop plant staff to achieve performance goals.Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees.Encourage a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.Partner with the sales department and other departments on any developments that affect planning and customer service.Partner with purchasing on inventory and supply items to keep shipments and back orders at an acceptable level while maintaining our on time delivery goals.Manage cross training for employees for coverage and capacity constraints.Manage employee time cards, vacation requests, and payroll.Partner with the leadership team on increasing employee engagement.

Financial Management:

Prepare and manage the plant’s budget, including monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities.Report on plant performance metrics and financials to management.Implement strategies to improve efficiency and profitability.

Continuous Improvement:

Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes, reduce waste, and increase productivity. Continue to educate the team on Continuous Improvement initiatives and opportunities.Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to optimize operations.Utilize and implement 5S and other strategies to maintain plant cleanliness.

Required Qualifications, Skills/Competencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or an equivalent field preferred but not required.7-10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.Experience working with an ISO 9001 certified company preferred.Experience working in a unionized environment is REQUIRED.Demonstrated strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, both internally with the organization and externally with suppliers and customers.Experience in project management, lean techniques, continuous improvement, and problem solving.Demonstrate the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of the organization.Demonstrated strong employee development skills and ability.Experience working with an ERP system is preferred.

Working Conditions:

The Plant Manager will work in a manufacturing plant environment, which may include exposure to noise, heat, and other conditions typical of a production facility.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.May be required to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
