Plant Manager

 Eaton’s Mobility Group has an opening for a Plant Manager in Kings Mountain, NC.

Position Overview:

Reporting directly to the VP Global Manufacturing, this leader has responsibility for leading the staff team toward achieving World Class manufacturing performance and Profit Plan financial performance.  This person will lead the plant leadership team, consisting of production, operational excellence, supply chain, programs management, HR, finance and EHS, and drive a culture of safety and quality performance, customer satisfaction, continuous improvement, talent development, and employee engagement.

 

He/she will set overall policies and procedures to ensure effective manufacturing/trading operations consistent with Eaton Business System (EBS), values and philosophy.  The incumbent will lead the plant leadership team to develop plant strategy and tactics to achieve annual profit plan and long-term strategic plan.  The Plant Manager is also responsible for leading and implementing EBS, especially in applying the tools and processes to deliver exceptional business results. This person will interface with the sales organization to ensure internal/external customer needs are met.

 

Essential Functions:
•    Develops, implements, and reviews suitable short and long-term plans to achieve key strategic objectives such as the annual operating plan, profit plan, world class Hi 5 metrics, talent development, organizational capability, and strategic business plans.
•    Coordinates and directs the facility assets and labor utilization, maintenance activity, inventory control, cost control, and administration of work standards.
•    Contributes to the development of all plant policies, consistent with the direction and collaboration of the overall Eaton organization.
•    Maintains accountability to performance tracking including leading and lagging indicators.
•    Ensures the promotion, support, and awareness of community involvement and employee engagement activities.
•    Leads and performs Operational Assessments and execute action plans.
•    Provides leadership and communication to achieve plant objectives in accordance with the Eaton Leadership Model 
•    Ensures compliance with all government, financial, environmental and labor regulations.
•    Creates and leads development planning for self and others within the organization to ensure organizational capability and succession.
•    Drives the implementation of best practices & continuous improvement according to the Eaton Continuous Improvement System. 
•    Develops and supports processes that drives a culture of World Class Safety, Quality, and Employee Engagement
•    Comfortable discussing operational performance and financials with various levels of leadership.
•    Must work consistently to maintain safe and healthy working conditions, to adhere to proper operating practices and procedures designed to prevent injury and illness and to observe Federal, State, local, and overall regional company safety and health regulations.
 

Required Qualifications:

•    7+ years of progressive leadership in manufacturing environment
•    3+ years of experience in the Automotive Industry with experience in machining, assembly, automation.
•    Good understanding of budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditure analysis, wage and salary
•    Proficient with Lean Manufacturing tools and standards; as well as Safety/Environmental compliance 
•    Experiences leading Kaizen events
•    Experience with IATF, ISO, TS compliance
•    Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.

Education:
•    An undergraduate degree is required.  A Master’s degree is preferred.

•    Eaton recognizes this role as a critical position within the corporation and will create a compelling package consisting of a base salary, employee incentive compensation, including long term incentive and complete benefits.

 

Location:
•    This position will be based in our Kings Mountain, NC facility.

The expected annual salary range for this role is $172500.03 - $253000.04 a year. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program.  Please note the salary information shown above is a general guideline only.
