Plant Manager
ITW Professional Automotive Products specializes in the manufacture of automotive maintenance products including fluids (treatments and additives, cleaners, functional fluids along with the equipment required to perform the services) and wiper blades. Major business segments include New Car Dealers, Tire, Muffler and Brake and Quick Lube facilities. Operations are in Lakeland, FL. This position will be located at our Lakeland, FL facility. The Plant Operations Manager for our Lakeland, FL plant is a key leadership role in the division, responsible for achieving the goals and metrics of the manufacturing plant. The position is responsible to provide leadership for the overall Operations, Safety, Logistics, Production, Supply Chain, and Quality targets for the site and to drive safety, operational, financial improvement through ITW Enterprise Initiatives (FTB and Strategic Sourcing). **ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** Strategic Leadership - + Leading Safety and Health, as well all legal and compliance requirements for the site + Leading the plant operations to manage and meet plant P&L commitments. + Play a key role in helping to develop Annual Plan and Long Range Plans for the plant + Develop “Best in Class” culture - A culture of safety first, performance, accountability, engagement and teamwork. + To conduct business in an ethical manner by following ITW Principles of Conduct. Operational Leadership - + Assure compliance for all legal and statuary requirements for safety, health, and environment for the site (Federal, State, and Local). + Create a Safety culture where all employees are accountable for safety, and assuring we have all required tools and resources to manage safety, including 5S to meet the goal of zero accidents + Direct and coordinate site activities to obtain optimum efficiency and economics of operations (continuous improvement). + Participate in the creation of the Annual and Long Range Plan for the Site + Safely manage the site operations in order to meet or exceed production requirements according to resources assigned in Annual Plan (AP) and Long Range Plan (LRP) Plan. + Drive margin improvements - obtain, analyze and improve all the operational KPI’s of the plant by using ITW toolbox (80/20) MRD, PLS) and strategic sourcing initiatives. + Implement space utilization strategy – 80/20 execution in/out manufacturing. + Review production costs and product quality and modifies production and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of divisions. + Continuously seek and implement cost and waste reduction programs. + Proficient in all company policies and procedures as they are outlined and defined. People Leadership - + Lead teams and departments under direct responsibility (Maintenance, Production, Sourcing, Planning, HSE, Engineering and Logistics) to establish and deliver on stretch goals. + Review Organization Structure and Talent periodically to ensure ‘fit for purpose’. + Focus and guide Talent Development with the aid of tools available as part of the ‘Great ITW Leader Framework’ **Supervisory Responsibilities** This position is over the Supply Chain, Production, and Warehouse functions. + Bachelor’s of Science degree (Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineer, or Chemical Engineer as preference) + Three to five years’ experience as a manufacturing plant leader; good mechanical/chemical aptitude required. + 10-15 years in a manufacturing environment, preferably a just in time production cycle + Experience in Chemical Manufacturing with Blending and filling processes. + Strong written/verbal communication skills; good listening skills; a team player who demonstrates the ability to relate to employees at all levels of the Company and who is sensitive to cultural differences. + Must be adept at analyzing facts and issues, identifying options, and able to decide and recommend a course of action. + Demonstrated ability to manage complexity and change. + Customer Relationship Building skills to be a trusted advisor + Attention to detail, well organized and able to solve problems. + Ability to manage time in order to complete multiple tasks by required deadlines. + People driven and motivates others to excel; Ability to identify and develop leaders + Approachable, inspires trust and confidence. Ability to use good judgment and discretion with highly confidential business and employee information. + Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, with experience implementing lean tools. + MBA will be a plus + Computer literacy required including user experience with manufacturing planning systems; Highly proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook + Travel up to 5% Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to stand; walk; climb; balance on moving vehicles in standing and sitting positions, operate mechanical moving equipment; and to hear. The employee is constantly exposed to vibration while operating mechanical equipment. The employee is frequently required to bend; stoop; stand; handle; finger; feel; reach forward with arms; and talk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; crouch; kneel; squat; and twist. The employee is rarely required to crawl. The employee must occasionally lift, push/pull, and or move up to 65 pounds. The employee must possess the mandatory ability to react and move quickly in case of emergency. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus/accommodate. RISKS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to the possibility of injury to the hands or feet and collision with moving equipment. The possibility of fire exists. On rare occasion, the employee has the possibility of exposure (once a day) to electrical shock and battery explosion. The employee may also rarely come into contact with toxic / caustic chemicals from damaged product. Working Conditions While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and machinery. A strong citrus odor is present constantly in the work environment. The noise level in the work environment is moderate. Work is performed inside with moderate amounts of heat, cold and humidity encountered. Inside work can be dirty, with adequate lighting and ventilation.
