We are seeking a passionate Plant Manger to join our team. This critical role is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and controlling operational activities within the production and shipping/receiving areas. This position collaborates with work teams to enhance quality and efficiency across departments, ensures adherence to company policies, and provides strategic advice to the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Participate in strategic planning with senior management to align on company goals and action plans.
+ Develop and implement strategies for operational efficiency in Manufacturing and Shipping/Receiving.
+ Foster a team-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement through mentorship and collaboration.
+ Establish systems for monitoring operational performance and development.
+ Manage capacity planning to address customer demand and operational bottlenecks, utilizing tools like kaizen events.
+ Report on operational metrics, development plans, and achievements regularly.
+ Empower and mentor value stream teams to make informed decisions, address performance issues, and support recruitment efforts.
+ Control departmental expenditures within budgetary guidelines.
+ Collaborate with internal teams (Customer Development, Procurement, etc.) to align operational objectives.
+ Ensure compliance with quality management, health and safety, legal, and environmental standards.
+ Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and thoroughness in production and procurement activities.
Additional Duties:
+ Serve as a resource for leadership across departments, assisting in quality decision-making.
+ Stay updated on production developments and communicate insights to the Director of Operations and team members.
+ Perform additional tasks as needed to support operational success.
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, Business, or a related field.
+ 8-10 years of Operations management experience, with 2-5 years in a sheet-metal fabrication environment.
+ Strong understanding of Lean manufacturing principles.
+ Proven experience in coaching and mentoring self-directed work teams in manufacturing.
+ Proficient in computerized manufacturing systems and business report composition.
+ Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to make sound business decisions.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism.
