Parkersburg, WV - Staunton - Filling industrialHow will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?The Plant Manager is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of all plant operations, including but not limited to the safe and compliant leadership of associate activities in producing and repackaging of compressed and liquid gases into cylinders, and assigning job tasks to associates in accordance with customer orders and fulfillment requirements.Operate and safely maintain the plant for pumping or repackaging of gases into cylinders while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and company policies, procedures, regulations and laws.
Safely leads, operates and maintains the plant for pumping or repackaging of gases into cylinders while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, local and company policies, procedures, regulations and laws. Maintains a neat, clean and orderly plant appearance.
Analyses production schedules and determines associate-hour requirements for completion of job assignments. Establishes and/or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.
Implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality. Modifies working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of associate labor.
Inspect machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.
Ensures all safety rules are strictly observed and safety training is regularly scheduled, conducted and documented. Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
Ensures all injuries and accidents are properly investigated and reported within 24 hours.
Analyzes, resolves, and assists associates in solving work related issues or roadblocks
Partners with HRBP to collaborate on associate actions, such as promotions, transfers, discharges, and disciplinary measures. Ensures associate issues, grievances, etc. are effectively handled to optimize associate engagement.
Leads subordinate supervisors to provide support and development to ensure all associates are achieving established goals. Provides coaching and corrective action promptly, to ensure that poor performers are identified, documented and corrective measures are put in place.
Train new associates and provide cross training to continue production during times of personnel shortages.
Maintains time and production records and approves overtime when essential, while ensuring overtime is managed appropriately.
Accurately completes and submits paperwork (e.g., shippers, cylinder audits, month-end reports, etc.) in a timely manner.
Utilize plant dashboards and financial reports to drive improvements in operational efficiencies and costs.
Additional duties and projects as assigned.
________________________Are you a MATCH?EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and three to five years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of associates of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to interpret bar graphs.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess valid driver’s license and ability to obtain a valid forklift operator’s license
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
