Description:
**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The basic function of the Plant Manager is to provide the necessary leadership to plan, direct, organize, coordinate and control the mining of aggregate materials to produce a safe, quality, low cost product to achieve the yearly sales budget
The Plant Manager will ensure proper inventory levels are maintained to meet sales demand throughout the year. The Plant Manager will achieve this by coordinating activities with the Quality Control Department, the Maintenance Department and Regional Finance function to ensure the customer receives a quality product while also maintaining the processing plant to achieve an acceptable plant availability
The Plant Manager will analyze and monitor production efficiency to optimize plant equipment utilization. In addition, the Plant Manager will develop mining and production strategies to ensure an approach to raise productivity levels, maintaining safety as a top propriety, while controlling the costs.
**WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING**
+ Consistently identify new operational opportunities to attain improved plant efficiency and productivity.
+ Address the needs of the customer while at the same time promoting and protecting the long-term interests of the Company.
+ Initiate and implement production and scheduling related programs, strategies and techniques that result in increased productivity, and maintain safe operations of the processing plant, while maintaining the budgeted expenses of the assigned plants.
+ Manage the performances of subordinate personnel, work independently, meet deadlines and manage the assigned Plant with fiscal integrity.
+ Delegate responsibilities; must be able to objectively evaluate the performance of subordinates; and must be able to hold others accountable in a constructive manner.
+ Participate in Company safety inspections as well as MSHA inspections.
+ Communicate with site crew, which includes foremen, lead persons, plant operators, loader operators and laborers.
+ Supervise team to maintain production and efficiency. Schedule production and preventative maintenance routines to ensure maximum plant uptime
+ Maintain sufficient inventory levels at site to service customers’ needs
+ Coordinate safety issues and investigate incidents with safety department.
+ Ensure environmental compliance, rehabilitation and meeting permit obligations
**WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FO**
Education: Bachelor's degree or 3-5 years Aggregate Mining and related Raw Materials Plant Production experience
Additional Education Preferred:
Field of Study Preferred: Mining Engineering, Civil Engineering, Management
Additional Requirements:
+ Good communication and interpersonal skill coupled with good planning, scheduling and people management ability.
+ The ability to recognize production problems and the experience to solve those problems.
+ Good knowledge of Sand and Aggregates Mining and related Plant Production equipment including crushers, screens and washing equipment
+ Ability to motivate departmental personnel to meet production goals while maintaining the integrity of the safety program.
+ Need to have a good working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and water systems
+ Must be a decision-maker that constantly incorporates common business sense into the decision making process.
+ Material handling knowledge essential.
+ Demonstrate a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies in all work environments and areas.
+ Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors.
+ Adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Holcim approved Personal Protection Equipment (PPE), including but not limited to respirators.
